Entrepreneurship Governing Committee

The Engaged Entrepreneurship Program has assembled a student committee to assist in building a stronger entrepreneurial culture at Columbia . Recognizing entrepreneurship can be integrated into any academic track, the Entrepreneurship Governing Committee (EGC) includes students from across the University. EGC goals include the following:

  • Experiential Opportunities. Committee will focus on promoting, identifying, and supporting experiential entrepreneurship opportunities. This includes, but is not limited to building experiential opportunities at start-ups, working with start-up employers to create and define opportunities, and researching and advertising funding sources for non-paid experiential opportunities.
  • Strategic Promotion and Marketing. The EGC will develop and oversee a strategic marketing plan for entrepreneurship at Columbia. This will encompass email marketing, flier placement, timelines, administrator/faculty outreach, promotion to student organizations, etc. Marketing outlets will include social media and other online tools, managing the calendar and organizing marketing outreach teams.
  • Administrative/Strategic Internal Support and Departmental Outreach. The EGC will provide operational support, oversight, and events management for the CTICE Engaged Entrepreneurship programs. This includes providing operational and strategic support to the other committees, ensuring project process flow. Committee will also establish relationships with different facets of the University (administrative offices, Schools, faculty) to establish relationships necessary for strong collaboration.
  • Entrepreneurship Ambassadors /Student Group Outreach. EGC members will serve as ambassadors to entrepreneurship within the University comunity. Duties include active outreach and relationship development with student groups to support entrepreneurship. Committee will preside over student groups of specific categories and serve as the liaison for promotion and support of entrepreneurial programs and events.
  • University Outreach. The EGC will seek opportunities to promote Columbia as an entrepreneurial institution to peer schools in New York, across the country and internationally. Activities include promoting Columbia student involvement and providing assistance in making these opportunities feasible for Columbia attendance.
